What is Religious Education for Children?
Religious Education for Children has been a vital part of Christ the King Parish for many years. It serves children who, for various reasons, do not attend the Christ the King Catholic School.
Approximately 120 parish children are enrolled each year.
Classes are held from 7 to 8 p.m., every Wednesday evening during the public school calendar year. A "catch-up" class, which begins at 6:30, on Wednesday evenings, has been established for older children who have missed receiving the Sacraments at the normal age.
Most of the catechists are former or present school teachers certified by the state of Florida. All hold degrees and are either certified catechists by the Diocese or are presently working toward this goal. The Director of Religious Education is Lucille Guzzone. Her duties also include coordinating the preparation and reception of the Sacraments for the children of the entire parish.
For more information, please contact the director by phone or email, or complete and submit the form below.
