What is the Parish Council?

The Christ the King Parish Council is the functional structure of our local Catholic Community . . . our Parish. The council is tasked to organize, coordinate, evaluate, unify and support activities within the Parish, ensuring the extension of Christ's mission. The Council will present all members of the Parish with the opportunity to participate in the apostolic effort of bringing unity to the mission of the church through encouraging, guiding and directing parish life.

The Council is made up of a President, Vice President and Recording Secretary from the body of representatives. Representatives come from each ministry and affiliated organization in the Parish. Elections are held every three years to elect officers from its body of representatives.

Our council encourages the utilization of the time, talent and treasure of all members of our parish community. We strive to serve as an organizing and coordinating body for all organizations, committees and group activities within the parish. We want to serve as a structure for constructive dialogue between clergy and laity of the Parish so all can work in close cooperation as a truly Christian Community in fulfilling Christ's saving mission. The Christ the King Parish Council continues to cooperate with and effectively carry out the guidelines and the directions given by the Bishop and the Diocesan Pastoral Council.

Meetings are the second Monday of each month at 6:15 p.m. in the Shirley David Hall or, as otherwise scheduled. It is open to anyone who wishes to attend. Contact Tim McClellan by phone, email, or the form below for additional information.
